1997 BMW E39 528i ACS5

hello hello hello, greetings...

My friend made me an offer on my M3, so its gone. The car was sold under one condition, that i could still go and visit it anytime i want. Luckily he lived very close to me. The car will be faster than it is now and we will keep building it.

I picked up this '97 528i with 60xxx km on it. The car runs excellent and the interior is in great shape as well. Its not a strung out all out and sit up straight with full on concentration kind of car. I can actually lean a bit back and enjoy the ride with stereo. So far i've changed all the oil including motor and transmission oil along with coolant. Replace all filters, brake pads, rotors, and clean the injectors. The rest are:

- Fully repainted PlatinGrau (OEM 2008 5/7series color, originally black)
- AC Schnitzer 4 piece kit (didnt like the trunk lip and roof spoiler)
- AC Schnitzer type II 3pc 19X8.5/9,5
- Falken 452 245/35 + 265/30
- AC Schnitzer springs + Bilstein Sport Shock
- Fujitsubo header (removed the cat)
- Racing Dynamic muffler
- Alutec strut tower bar
- M5 trunk lip spoiler
- M5 mirrors (including mirror module and working fold feature)
- Chrome euro trunk list
- HELLA euro headlight with HID and HELLA celis rear
- Taiwan made Park Distance Control (it works great and comes with display, when the light turns red, then you only have about 30 cm to the object)
- AC Schnitzer pedals E39 specified with correct size pedals (dead, brake and gas pedals)

Future plans are 325 intake manifold and audio upgrade (nothing fancy just replace the speakers and add a sub).

Not looking to make this car a fast car, just a tad more grunt is enough. I'll keep looking for another toy car to build maybe a 2002 with S14 sometime in the future?? Laughing

F U Lower Crank Bolts (VR6 Inside)

i've had the corrado now 6 years and she's going under the knife for the second time since i've owned her. she started life innocently as a tornado red g60 looking like so when i traded for her:

well she was limping back then, 3 cylinders right kevin, so kevin and i ripped out everything save the supension/brakes and she turned into a nice nogaro blue g60 with a fresh rebuilt motor and charger looking a little something like this:

well that was all and well save the fact that the car ate lower crank bolts like fat kids eat cake. every year the car has had at least one downfall knocking it out and mandating repair. i'm sure some of you remember h2o '06 and making it down to ocean city ok and on the way back, shredding a tensioner pulley at 11 pm just south of syracuse, thank god i took monday off. last year was nice though, didn't eat any crank bolts or pullies, just the abs gave out one day on the way to work, another year down.

well f*** it, time to shake things up again, bring on the vr6. just ordered all these today and within the month, the girl will be back with a newly preped vr6, manual breaks, and new shoes.

for the first time in quite a while, i'm damn excited about this car

Updates:

I'm going to have a few new parts for the spring so I figured I would start a thread. The first has arrived today and here it is.

As some of you may know I had an encounter with a raccoon back in Sept. So my 25th anniversary was blasted into about 5 pieces which have since been taped together. Here is the replacement.
